General Plan of Activities
Introduction
In order to achieve the goals expressed in its Terms of Reference, the WG is organizing concrete activities within its 4-year time plan.
Below we list our proposed activities planned up to 2012. This activity plan will be updated and augmented continuously. Remarks and proposals, including new activities, are
welcome and should be sent to the .
In our activities mentioned below we plan to co-operate with other ISPRS WGs and other national and international organisations (e.g. GEOSS) involved in agriculture & ecosystem.
Planned activities:2008 -2012
- Regular exchange of information with the WG members through letters.
- Establishment of a WEB page for the working group.
- Active participation in the Technical Commission VIII Symposium, 2010, Kyoto and the 22nd ISPRS Congress, 2012, Melbourne.
- Organization of events (workshops, seminars, tutorials) especially within the frame of WG Terms of Reference.
Currently, the following events are planned:
- A 2-day workshop on "Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture" during December, 2009 at Ahmedabad, India.
- A 2-day workshop during September, 2011 on "Carbon & Nutrient Cycle in Vegetation" at Dehradun, India
- A special issue of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing Journal on "Ecosystem Modeling" during September, 2010.
- A special issue in ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing on "Monitoring Agriculture"
- Preparation of annual reports for ISPRS, as well as preparation of reports on WG-cosponsored events and WG news to be published in the ISPRS Highlights.
- Organization of a Business Meeting during the Technical Commission VIII Symposium and participation in Com. VIII Business Meetings, incl. formulation
of WG-related resolutions for the next ISPRS Congress.
